More KQ flights between Kenya and Mumbai will boost tourism in Kenya

Stretching its reach across India, Kenya Airways has released plans to launch new four times weekly flights to India, between Nairobi and New Dehli.
Commencing from 15 May this year, the new services are in addition to the airlines current ten weekly flights between Mumbai and Kenya and will contribute to the country's tourist board plans to increase travel from India by 15 to 20 percent this year compared to last year, TTG Asia reported.
The airline's global destinations director Tanseem Sharafally said the airline was also looking to increase its services to four other cities to meet growing demand.
"Kenya is becoming increasingly popular for family vacations. (Travellers) want (Kenya's) safari and luxury outdoor accommodation," Tanseem Sharafally noted.
According to Kenya Tourist Board head of marketing Jennifer Opondo, India is one of Kenya's largest markets and the new services would help maintain traffic in trade and visits.
"We are culturally familiar with each other. This makes for a good platform to increase Indian (arrivals) to our country," she said.
Last year Kenya welcomed up to 58,986 Indian tourist arrivals with the majority travelling from Maharashtra, Gujarat and New Delhi.

  1. Your true traveler finds boredom rather agreeable than painful. It is the symbol of his liberty -- his excessive freedom. He accepts his boredom, when it comes, not merely philosophically, but almost with pleasure.Flights to Bogota
